A Saskatchewan Class 3 licence covers trucks with more than two axles, which may tow units up to 4,600 kg, and power units with more than two axles when they are not pulling a semi-trailer. Class 3 applicants write four papers: Sign (30 questions), Basic Class 5 (20), Class 3 (10) and Class 4 (10). Trucks with air brakes also need the A endorsement, except farm-licensed trucks.
This page draws 40 questions from the topics we group under the Class 3 paper: length, width, height and weight limits, A, B and C trains, off-tracking and turning a long unit, the highway turn-abouts, load distribution and securement, overhang flags and lights, bills of lading and transporting dangerous goods. Pair it with our Class 4 page, because the Class 4 paper is part of every Class 3 test.
