TEF Canada Reading overview

TEF Canada Reading exam simulator

Independent reading practice only. Each original item counts equally; the 80% study target and percentage are not a TEF score, CEFR/NCLC level or immigration result. The five teaching categories, their equal mix and difficulty order are editorial choices, not an official blueprint. Mixed exercises reuse this bank and may overlap.

How the simulator works

  • Every attempt draws from our original bank. The order may change, and questions can repeat.
  • No explanations or right answers appear until you submit.
  • Move freely between questions, change answers and flag any you want to check again.
  • When the time runs out, your test is submitted automatically.
  • Keyboard: 1–4 or A–D to answer, ← → to move, F to flag.

Find a quiet spot. If you leave the page during the test, you will be asked to confirm.

FAQ

Exam simulator FAQ

How is the simulator different from the mock exams?

The mixed practice uses a fixed set. The simulator draws 40 questions from our 120-question bank and can change their order. Questions may repeat; when the counts are equal, every attempt uses the same questions. Answers are hidden until submission.

Are these the real TEF Canada Reading test questions?

No. These questions and any accompanying texts are original learning material. Official resources describe the assessment; they do not provide these answers. This site is independent of CCI Paris Île-de-France — Le français des affaires.

What happens when the time runs out?

You get 60 minutes. A warning appears with 5 minutes and with 1 minute left, and screen readers announce it. At zero, the test is submitted and marked automatically, and unanswered questions count as wrong.

How is the simulation marked?

Independent reading practice only. Each original item counts equally; the 80% study target and percentage are not a TEF score, CEFR/NCLC level or immigration result. The five teaching categories, their equal mix and difficulty order are editorial choices, not an official blueprint. Mixed exercises reuse this bank and may overlap. After you submit, you see your score by section and by topic, then every question with your answer, the right answer and an explanation.

Can I go back and change my answers?

Yes. Until you submit, you can move between questions, change any answer and flag questions to check again. The question map shows which ones are answered, flagged or still empty. The official test may work differently, so check with the official test provider (CCI Paris Île-de-France — Le français des affaires).
