Use your invitation to plan the official test, and use this checklist before starting. Practising a quiz on your phone is different from meeting the equipment and identity requirements of IRCC’s online test.

Independent preparation aid. Your IRCC invitation and current official instructions govern the actual test. Do not use this website, notes or an assistant while taking it.

Prepare the room before you sign in

Choose a place where you can sit comfortably and be interrupted as little as possible. Check the camera view for lighting and distracting personal documents in the background. Make a plan for deliveries, household members and notifications before you begin.

Put the identification you intend to use within reach. Do not send it to this website or to a practice tutor. The identity check belongs in IRCC’s official test process. If you need an accommodation, use the instructions in your invitation to contact IRCC before starting.

Do a separate practice run

Before the official test day, use our timed original practice to become comfortable reading a question, choosing an answer and reviewing mistakes afterward. This is a study session, so explanations and notes are available here. They must be put away before the real test.

After practice, review the topic behind an error in Discover Canada. Do not treat a familiar interface or a high practice percentage as proof that your equipment is compatible with the official system or that you will pass.

Know where preparation ends

Follow the link and identity steps in the official instructions. Once you start, the test rules apply: no study materials or other devices, no outside help and no browser back button. Leave enough uninterrupted time for the whole sitting.

Make a plan for problems

Save the official help page and invitation where you can find them before the test. If something goes wrong, use IRCC’s instructions for that issue; do not assume refreshing, restarting or opening another attempt is the right response.

Keep your application identifiers and test links private. A practice site can explain public instructions, but cannot recover an IRCC account, extend an invitation or validate an official result. Our application guide covers the broader citizenship process; this page focuses on the online sitting.

Does passing a practice test confirm that I will pass IRCC’s test?

No. Practice helps you find topics to review. It does not validate your identity, your equipment or an official test result.
